The ZYXEL FWA70 is an outdoor router engineered to establish high-speed network connections utilizing 5G mobile technology. It includes an integrated SIM card slot to enable connectivity across 5G, 4G, and 3G networks, suitable for locations lacking fixed broadband infrastructure. Under optimal conditions, the mobile connection can achieve maximum transfer speeds of up to 7000 Mbit/s. This device is specifically designed for persistent operation in demanding environments such as remote sites or outdoor installations.

For local connectivity and backhaul, the router includes one RJ-45 WAN/LAN port supporting 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet speeds. Installation flexibility is provided by dual power input options, supporting both standard DC power and Power over Ethernet (PoE), compliant with 802.3af/at standards. The ruggedized chassis allows the unit to operate effectively across an extended temperature range, from -30 °C to 55 °C.

Network administration is facilitated through both web-based management tools and Zyxel's mobile applications, supporting integration into the Nebula cloud ecosystem for centralized oversight. Security implementations include a Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) firewall, Network Address Translation (NAT), and support for VPN Passthrough. The FWA70 incorporates Quality of Service (QoS) functionality to manage and prioritize network traffic effectively.
