With the Wiser phone app, you can easily create scene controls, schedules, or automations based on weather changes, for example. The devices also communicate with each other, so home functions can be automated to occur without user attention. The Wiser system can be installed in standard cabling or wirelessly. The central unit creates a certified Zigbee 3.0 mesh network in the home, to which other devices are connected. The device is also connected to Schneider Electric's cloud service, which enables secure remote access and notifications when away. The central unit should be placed in as open and central a location as possible, although each Wiser device connected to mains power also acts as a message router, enabling a very extensive and reliable system. The central unit can be connected to the home's broadband via a network cable (recommended connection method RJ45, not included) or via Wi-Fi. The device can be installed in a standard junction box (installation depth 24mm), directly on the wall, or as a separate unit on a table. The Wiser Optical Smart Smoke Detector brings smart safety to your smart home. The smoke detector detects smoke and sudden temperature increases and alarms with a loud (85dB 3m) audible signal and sends a notification to your mobile phone*. With the Wiser app, the smoke detector can be connected to smart home automation, allowing you to automatically turn off outlets in the event of a fire or set all home cameras to record events to a memory card, for example. The Wiser app also reminds you to test the smoke detector regularly. You can check the status of the device from a clear LED light, and if you want to temporarily silence the device (10min), you can easily do this by briefly pressing the front of the device. The smoke detector can also be used without the Wiser app, in which case it functions as a traditional smoke detector. The detector can be wirelessly chained to other Wiser smoke detectors, providing comprehensive alerting throughout the home if smoke or a sudden increase in temperature is detected in any room. The Door/Window Sensor makes it easy to automate the Wiser home with access control. For example, the sensor can trigger scenes, control Wiser-compatible devices, or notify the user's phone when doors are opened.

The battery-powered sensor is easy to install using the included mounting plate with either screws or double-sided tape. The sensor operates reliably magnetically. Battery life is approximately 5 years depending on usage. The battery is replaceable by the user.
