The CORSAIR Obsidian 500D RGB SE is a mid-tower case constructed from steel with smoked tempered glass panels on the front and sides. The chassis utilizes a direct airflow path design, with removable dust filters located at the front, top, and bottom for simplified maintenance. Integrated RGB lighting is present in the three pre-installed 120 mm front fans, which can be configured using the included controller. The hinged side panels provide tool-free access to the internal components for hardware installation and system management.

This case provides extensive cooling flexibility for high-performance components. It supports up to a 360 mm radiator in the front, a 280 mm radiator on the top, and a 120 mm radiator at the rear. The internal layout accommodates motherboards up to the ATX form factor, CPU coolers up to 170 mm in height, and provides seven horizontal expansion slots. For storage, it includes dedicated mounting points for three 2.5-inch SSDs and two 3.5-inch HDDs. A dedicated rear channel and tie-downs are available for cable management.
