Office monitors
There is a wide range of home and office monitors on the market, and it's good to know a few key features. These include screen size in inches, resolution and ergonomics.
When choosing a home or office monitor, inch size is not necessarily the deciding factor, as resolution has more to do with image quality. For example, 24-inch displays with Full HD (1920x1080) resolution are popular choices for versatile use in the home or office. For larger screens, such as 27 inches or more, higher resolution models such as 2K displays are recommended, which offer a clearer picture. However, it should be remembered that higher resolution also requires a more powerful graphics card.
When choosing the screen, it is worth paying attention to ergonomics, such as height adjustment and screen thickness. If desk space is limited, a thinner screen may be a more convenient option.
The Refresh Rate is also an important feature for home and office screens, although it is not as important as for gaming screens. A minimum of 60Hz is recommended to ensure a smooth picture, but a higher refresh rate can be useful when editing videos or images, for example.
Finally, panel technology affects the performance and image quality of the display. The most common panel types are TN, IPS and VA. TN panels have a faster response time, while IPS panels have better colour reproduction and viewing angles. VA panels combine the best of both, but can be slightly more expensive. Choose your panel type based on which feature is most important to you: speed, colour or viewing angles.
