The TP-Link Omada 28-Port Gigabit Easy Managed Switch with 24-Port PoE+ (ES228GP) is a Layer 2 networking device designed for segmenting LANs and powering compatible endpoints. It features 26 Gigabit RJ-45 ports and two dedicated SFP slots, supporting both copper connections and fiber-optic uplinks. With a switching capacity of 56 Gbit/s, it manages simultaneous data traffic from IP surveillance cameras, wireless access points, and office workstations.
The rack-mountable black metal chassis includes two internal cooling fans for continuous operation. The device has a 250 W total PoE budget, delivering up to 30 W per port across its 24 PoE+ ports. Administrators can configure the switch via a local web interface or centrally through the Omada cloud management platform. It supports MTU, port-based, and tagged VLANs for network segmentation. Additional features such as link aggregation and IGMP snooping allow IT staff to group ports for redundancy and manage multicast media streams.
