The Ubiquiti UniFi Enterprise Access Hub (EAH-8) coordinates security hardware across a facility. It provides control logic and power distribution to operate multiple readers from a single network appliance. The system supports up to eight doors and a database of 10,000 users. Network connectivity is provided via a Gigabit Ethernet interface. The hub relies on wired connections only, excluding Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to maintain network security. It runs on standard AC mains power for both internal logic and connected entry hardware.
The controller is designed for wall mounting, typically on a backboard in an IT or electrical closet. Its SGCC steel housing provides protection in utility environments. A removable polycarbonate cover protects the internal terminal blocks while allowing access for wiring and maintenance. Administrators manage the device via the UniFi Access software, rather than through local interfaces. The unit draws up to 240 W at full load. A dedicated secondary circuit supports battery backup to maintain operation during power loss.
