The D-Link M36/E is a Wi-Fi 7 BE3600 tabletop router for wireless and wired devices. It operates on dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies and supports the 802.11be (Wi-Fi 7) standard. The maximum wireless data transfer rate is 3570 Mbit/s across both bands combined. An Ethernet WAN interface connects the router to an internet service provider. It runs on standard AC or DC power, with a typical consumption of 11.45 W during regular use.

The white chassis features four RJ45 ports for wired equipment. Each LAN port supports 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet for high-speed networking. The internal antenna design keeps the exterior sleek, with no protruding aerials. Traffic management uses Quality of Service (QoS) protocols to prioritise data streams across the network. The integrated firewall includes Stateful Packet Inspection and baseline protection against Denial-of-Service (DoS) attacks. Administrators can restrict access using IP filtering, an Access Control List (ACL), and a DMZ option. This model lacks DSL WAN support and a SIM card slot, so an existing broadband modem is required for internet access.
