The Keychron Q5 Max is a wireless custom mechanical keyboard with a 96% layout, providing a nearly full-size key set with a numeric keypad in a more compact chassis. Its frame is constructed from CNC-machined 6063 aluminum, contributing to its weight and structural rigidity. The keyboard features a double-gasket mounting design and incorporates multiple layers of acoustic foam to modify the typing sound and feel. It supports tri-mode connectivity, offering a 2.4 GHz wireless connection, Bluetooth 5.1, and a detachable USB-C wired mode.

This model is equipped with Gateron Jupiter mechanical switches and includes durable double-shot PBT keycaps. For customization, the keyboard is fully compatible with QMK and VIA firmware, which allows for key remapping, macro programming, and lighting adjustments on its south-facing RGB LEDs. The device is compatible with macOS, Windows, and Linux systems and includes a 4000 mAh rechargeable battery that provides up to 180 hours of use with backlighting off.
