The ASUS ZenWiFi BQ16 is a three-unit mesh system using the Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) standard. It operates on 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz frequencies with a maximum combined Wi-Fi throughput of 11529 Mbit/s. Data rates reach 1376 Mbit/s on the 2.4 GHz band and 5764 Mbit/s on both the 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands. The system includes twelve internal antennas and supports 4096-QAM modulation for data transmission. Technical implementations include MU-MIMO, beamforming, and intelligent mesh technology for wireless traffic management across all nodes.

Wired connectivity includes three RJ-45 ports with 10000 Mbit/s and 1000 Mbit/s interface speeds. A USB 3.0 port is included for peripheral connections and 4G/5G modem failover support. Security is provided through WPA3 encryption, an integrated firewall, and URL filtering. System management via a web interface supports VPN client and server protocols and Quality of Service (QoS) bandwidth control. Each desktop unit is equipped with a reset button, a WPS button, and indication lights for visual status monitoring.
