The ASUS RT-AX1800U is a dual-band Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) router designed for tabletop placement. It supports a maximum combined wireless throughput of 1800 Mbit/s, providing up to 574 Mbit/s on the 2.4 GHz band and 1201 Mbit/s on the 5 GHz band. The implementation of 1024-QAM modulation and MU-MIMO technology manages data transmission efficiency in multi-device environments. Four external antennas and beamforming technology support signal stability for up to 64 connected devices.

Wired connectivity includes one Gigabit WAN port and three Gigabit LAN ports for physical network connections. A USB 2.0 port allows for 3G/4G modem compatibility and Samba storage access. Security features include WPA3 encryption, a dedicated firewall, and parental controls via Trend Micro AiProtection Classic. The device supports VPN client and server functionality using IPSec, OpenVPN, and PPTP protocols. Management is handled through a web-based interface with Quality of Service bandwidth control and guest access options.
