The Fractal Design North is a mid-tower case designed with a focus on combining airflow performance with a distinct aesthetic. This model features a steel chassis, an open front panel with fine-patterned mesh, and a dark-tinted tempered glass side panel that provides a view of the internal components. The interior layout is structured to support a straightforward assembly process for a range of system configurations. Integrated dust filters are included at the front and bottom to assist with system maintenance.

Compatibility extends to ATX, microATX, and Mini-ITX motherboards, with seven expansion slots available for graphics cards and other peripherals. The case offers considerable flexibility for cooling hardware, supporting radiators up to 360 mm in the front and 240 mm at the top. For air-based cooling, two 140 mm PWM fans are pre-installed in the front intake position, with additional mounts available for top and rear fans. The chassis accommodates CPU coolers up to 170 mm tall and standard ATX power supplies up to 255 mm long.

The top-mounted I/O panel provides access to two USB 3.1 Type-A ports, one USB 3.2 Type-C port, and a combined audio jack. For storage, the case includes two dedicated 2.5-inch drive mounts and a drive cage that holds an additional two 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch drives. Cable management is facilitated by routing channels and tie-down points behind the motherboard tray, which helps to maintain organized internal airflow and a clean build appearance.
