The Cisco Business 250 Series Smart 16-Port Gigabit PoE Switch is a managed network switch designed for office environments. It handles traffic across 16 RJ45 ports that support Gigabit Ethernet data rates of 10, 100, and 1000 Mbit/s. Power over Ethernet (PoE) functionality delivers both data and electrical power through standard cabling, eliminating the need for separate power supplies for endpoint devices such as wireless access points. The unit operates on an AC input of 100 to 240 V.

The switch features a silver exterior in a standard 1U form factor, suitable for installation in standard IT equipment cabinets. Administration is handled via web-based or cloud-managed platforms, allowing operators to configure virtual LAN (VLAN) segmentation and Quality of Service (QoS) traffic prioritisation. Security includes HTTPS, SSH, and SSL/TLS encryption, alongside MAC address filtering and Access Control Lists (ACLs). Front-panel LED indicators display physical port connectivity and system status.
