The ICY DOCK MB882SP-1S-1B 2.5-inch to 3.5-inch SATA HDD/SSD converter allows a 2.5-inch drive to be used in a standard 3.5-inch bay. It aligns the connections of smaller solid-state or hard disk drives with those of larger storage enclosures. The device supports SATA and SAS interfaces, with transfer rates of up to 6 Gbit/s or 24 Gbit/s, depending on the drive used. It does not support NVMe drives. The housing protects the internal drive while maintaining the dimensions of a standard 3.5-inch hard drive. The precise connector placement makes it suitable for use in server backplanes and hot-swap environments.

The converter features a tool-less mounting system, which allows the internal drive to be installed without extra hardware.
