The Sound BlasterX Katana is a multi-channel soundbar system engineered for both gaming and general desktop audio. It functions as a 2.1 channel setup, combining the main unit with a separate active subwoofer to reproduce low-frequency effects. At its core is a multi-core Digital Signal Processor (DSP) that manages high-resolution 24-bit audio playback. The soundbar also provides native decoding for Dolby Digital 5.1 signals, processing multi-channel audio from sources like streaming devices and game consoles.

For connectivity, the system offers Bluetooth 4.2 for wireless streaming, a digital optical input, and a USB port that facilitates virtual 7.1 surround sound on a PC. The soundbar's main unit has a compact chassis measuring 600 mm in width, designed to fit beneath most monitors and reinforced with a brushed aluminum panel. A distinctive feature is the programmable Aurora Reactive lighting system located along the base. Users can manage volume, inputs, and audio profiles using the included remote control.
