The CHIEFTEC CMR-3141SAS is an internal storage backplane designed for users needing to expand drive capacity within a standard PC or server chassis. It converts multiple external bays into a dedicated drive area, facilitating the installation of various storage media in a space-saving configuration. This module is suitable for professional workstations or server environments where drive organization is a primary requirement for the system builder. The housing is built from SECC steel to provide a rigid and durable environment for internal hardware components.

This backplane manages power and data connections through a centralized interface, which helps to reduce cable clutter and improve internal airflow within the computer case. An integrated cooling system maintains constant air circulation across the storage devices to prevent thermal issues during sustained data access. The front-facing design allows for immediate access to individual drive trays for maintenance, testing, or hardware upgrades. Monitoring and device safety are handled through physical security mechanisms and a set of visual indicators on the front panel.
