The ASUS Xonar U7 MKII 7.1 USB sound card is an external audio interface for high-resolution, multi-channel sound on desktop and laptop computers. It acts as a digital-to-analogue converter that bypasses standard motherboard audio hardware to reduce electrical interference. The card supports 7.1-channel surround sound at a maximum resolution of 24-bit/192kHz. With a signal-to-noise ratio of 114 dB, the line-out signal remains clear. It connects to the host via a single USB port.

A Cirrus Logic CS4398 DAC and CM6632AX chipset handle audio processing. The unit features physical dials for independent headphone and microphone volume control, and a switch to toggle between outputs without needing to use software menus.
