The StarTech PEXUSB3S42V is a 4-port PCI Express USB 3.2 Gen 1 (USB 3.0) expansion card featuring two dedicated 5 Gbit/s channels. It connects to the motherboard via a PCIe x4 slot to provide four USB Type-A ports. By using two dedicated 5 Gbit/s channels to partition bandwidth across the ports, the architecture prevents a single high-bandwidth device from saturating the bus when multiple peripherals are active. UASP support improves data transfer efficiency for compatible drives, and each port complies with the USB 3.2 Gen 1 standard, offering transfer speeds up to 5 Gbit/s.
