The StarTech PEX4M2E1 PCIe x4 to M.2 NVMe/AHCI SSD adapter connects an M.2 SSD to your computer via a standard PCI Express x4 slot. This expansion card allows for the installation of M.2 storage on motherboards that lack native M.2 slots. Using a PCI Express 3.0 host interface, the card supports data transfer rates of up to 8 Gbit/s and is compatible with both NVMe and AHCI M.2 drives.
The adapter includes both full-height and low-profile brackets, allowing for installation in both standard and small form factor chassis. Integrated LED indicators provide a visual signal for drive activity. The card is OS-independent, requiring no additional drivers, and is compatible with Windows 8 or later and macOS 10.10.3 or later. At 47 g, the card minimises mechanical load on the motherboard PCIe slot.
