StarTech PCI1394MP 4-Port PCI FireWire 400 (IEEE 1394a) Adapter Card

The StarTech PCI1394MP is a 4-port PCI FireWire 400 (IEEE 1394a) adapter card that adds FireWire connectivity to desktop computers. It installs into a standard 32-bit PCI slot to support high-bandwidth legacy peripherals. With a maximum transfer rate of 400 Mbit/s, it is suitable for tasks such as transferring media from digital camcorders or accessing data on external FireWire hard drives. The card adheres to the PCI 2.1 standard for broad motherboard compatibility and provides FireWire ports for systems that lack them natively.

The card features four IEEE 1394a ports to accommodate multiple peripherals simultaneously. It comes with a standard-profile bracket pre-installed, and a low-profile bracket is included for use in slimline computer cases.
