Aqara Presence Sensor FP2

The Aqara Presence Sensor FP2 employs millimeter-wave (mmWave) radar technology to deliver precise human presence detection, even capturing subtle movements like breathing. This accuracy addresses common issues with traditional passive infrared (PIR) sensors, such as lights turning off unintentionally when occupants remain still.

A standout feature of the FP2 is its zone positioning capability, allowing users to monitor rooms up to 40 m² (approximately 430 sq ft) and divide them into as many as 30 distinct zones. Each zone can trigger specific automations, enabling tailored smart home experiences. Additionally, the sensor supports multi-person detection, tracking up to five individuals simultaneously, which is beneficial for households with multiple occupants.

The FP2 integrates seamlessly with various smart home ecosystems, including Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Home Assistant, without requiring an Aqara hub. This broad compatibility facilitates easy integration into existing smart home setups.

Installation is flexible, thanks to a recessed USB-C port and a magnetic adjustable stand, supporting both ceiling and wall mounting. The device also features a built-in light sensor, enhancing the customization of lighting automations.

For enhanced safety, the FP2 offers fall detection and alerts, notifying users if a family member falls, without the need for camera monitoring. Ceiling placement is required for this feature.
